Who We Are
About Isaiah 61 Ministries
Heaven Help Us, Inc. — also known as Isaiah 61 Ministries — is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity originally founded in 1998. We focus on serving children and families living in extreme poverty, primarily through outreach and development efforts in the USA and Brazil, and by partnering with other nonprofits across the country.
Our work in the USA is led by Gene, Miranda, and Ben. Our work in Brazil is led by Fernando, Laerte, and Marcelo, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, staff and partners committed to long-term impact in underserved communities in Belo Horionte.
Our Mission
To bring hope to the hopeless, peace to the afflicted, and to help children in extreme poverty through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We equip and educate children with the tools they need to grow spiritually, academically, and professionally so they can build a better future for themselves and their communities.

We actively serve children and families through a wide range of programs designed to meet both immediate needs and foster long-term growth.
Education & Tutoring
Educational support, tutoring, and development programs that give children the academic foundation they need to succeed.
Community Outreach
Direct outreach in underserved areas, including meals, family events, and community gatherings that strengthen bonds and meet practical needs.
Sports & Mentorship
Youth sports programs including Jiu-Jitsu and mentorship activities that build character, discipline, and confidence.
Construction & Spaces
Construction and improvement of community spaces that provide safe, welcoming environments for children and families to grow.
Teaching children about Jesus so they can grow in faith and become a positive influence in their families, friendships, and communities.

At Isaiah 61 Ministries, our Discipleship is designed to nurture the spiritual development of children in engaging and age-appropriate ways. We believe that teaching kids about Jesus and the Gospel empowers them to become beacons of hope.
When a child embraces faith, it creates a powerful ripple effect. They positively influence their families, friends, and the broader community, extending God's love and transformative power for lasting change.
Bible Study & Scripture
Learning God's Word in fun, interactive ways, fostering a deep understanding of biblical truths relevant to their lives.

Mentorship Groups
Leaders and older youth provide encouragement, wisdom, and vital peer support for their spiritual growth.

Our goal is to help break the cycle of poverty by investing in both practical needs and long-term personal growth. Through ongoing discipleship and personal development, we walk alongside individuals and families — not just for a season, but for life.
